学生就业机会

勤工俭学有两种类型. Federal Work Study is a federally funded job in which the government and WLC share the payroll cost of employing a 学生. 大学勤工俭学由WLC资助. Students who have been awarded Work Study receive first priority in the job selection process during the summer and at the beginning of the academic year.

Work Study will be listed on your financial aid offer if you are eligible for a campus job based on financial need and have requested a job on the Free Application for Federal Student 援助 (FAFSA).

The award amount on your financial aid offer is the amount of money you can potentially earn while working on campus for one year. 这个数额不是保证, but a projected amount based on a work schedule of an average of 10 hours per week. Work Study is also based on your financial need as determined by your FAFSA.

If you are interested in a campus job but have not been awarded Work Study, you may check on the status of on-campus job openings on the 学生就业 page on myWLC. When the jobs are opened to non-Work-Study 学生s, 你可以申请工作.

If you are an incoming 学生 and Work Study is listed on your financial aid offer, you will receive emails from the 学生就业办公室 during the summer with directions on how to apply for a job. Jobs will open to incoming Work Study 学生s in late July.

If you are an incoming 学生 without Work Study, 回国的学生, or are an incoming 学生 for the spring semester, 你可以参加招聘活动或在网上申请. The 学生就业办公室 will guide you through the hiring process.

最低工资是7美元.25. Higher pay rates are based on the level of responsibility of the job that you can earn through promotions. There are three levels of jobs plus a Team Leader level.

You can work up to an average of 10 to 12 hours per week, but no more than 12 hours per week. The number of hours will depend on the needs of the department.

You will receive your pay twice a month via direct deposit into a checking or savings account of your choice. Your name must be on the checking or savings account.

If you don't obtain a job initially, you may contact the 学生就业办公室. You can also check the bulletin board in the library (near the printers) for job openings in the area, 自己Search, 或者在周末继续在家工作, 休息时间, 或夏天.

Summer jobs for 学生s are limited and are available only for specific positions. Students must be returning to WLC for the next academic year. Workers are often chosen by their supervisor in spring, but some positions may be posted online for anyone.

The 学生就业办公室 communicates through your WLC email account. Check your email throughout the summer and the academic year.
